Our Founder Rich Jordan and his family (including a daughter named Phoebe) live in an old house in West Falmouth, Maine. For 10 years running, a pair of eastern phoebes (birds) have nested in their barn. Each summer, in addition to the faithful pair of phoebes, the family has observed alder and least flycatchers, eastern kingbirds, eastern wood peewees, and very boisterous great-crested flycatchers on the property. These species and phoebes are in the family of birds known as "flycatchers". Thus, Rich's family renamed their home "Flycatcher Farm" and the company name came soon thereafter!
