David Brenneman
Partner/Senior Project Manager
Dave Brenneman is a Partner and Senior Project Lead at Flycatcher LLC, where he has been instrumental in the firm’s growth and success since its early days. His primary focus is expanding Flycatcher’s renewable energy practice, and throughout his career, he has contributed to the successful construction of several hundred megawatts of solar energy projects across the Northeastern United States.
More recently, Dave has led the development of Flycatcher’s Civil and Landscapes Division, which integrates his expertise in horticulture, land use permitting, ecological restoration, and construction management to bridge the gap between regulatory planning and field implementation. His work includes erosion and sediment control planning, SWPPP development and inspections, and integrating environmental protection measures into active construction sites—ensuring both regulatory compliance and ecological integrity. The Division also offers landscaping for coastal shoreline protection and specializes in designing and implementing wildlife habitat enhancements for solar facilities—particularly the successful establishment and management of pollinator meadows.
Dave is known for his thoughtful approach to land stewardship, clear communication with clients and regulators, and ability to adapt restoration strategies to challenging site conditions. He is also active in shaping wetland protection, land use policy, and environmental regulation at both the state and federal levels through his service on the Maine Association of Wetland Scientists Executive Committee.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, woodworking, sugaring, and boating—especially in Maine, where the mountains nearly meet the sea. He shares these adventures with his spouse, Lauren, their two children, Elyse and Edwin, and their Australian Shepherd, Fawkes.
